Yahoo! News: "An out-of-control driver slammed his SUV into a pregnant woman outside a lower East Side church yesterday before flipping onto a crowd of mourners at a funeral." An SUV ran into a PREGNANT WOMAN and then flipped into a FUNERAL? BANSUVS! Of course, this was also an asian driver. Just cause you can pass a 20 question written test and then barely pass a 30 minute driving test does not mean you should be on the road. The Pacific NW is filled with these people, usually the asians driving either Japanese or German cars in white or silver. If I see a female with dark hair driving a white Camry, I get the hell out of the way.


Damn, I sound racist. Oh well, it's not my fault they all suck at driving.

Sorry, everyone. My photo gallery was down for a couple of days because I messed up my DHCP settings at home. I knew it was down and I knew it would only take fifteen minutes to fix, I just didn't have the time! Anyway, it's back up, so enjoy.


Two weekends ago, Kat and I went to the San Juan islands with her parents. We stayed at the Friday Harbor Hotel and had a pretty good time. I didn't know this, but Friday Harbor was the location of an American-English battle back in the day! They have turned the two camps into national parks and they are creatively enough called American Camp and English Camp. I personally liked English Camp more, but that could be because the weather when we visited there was warm and sunny while it was rainy, windy and almost freezing when we were at American Camp! Most people seem to prefer American Camp more simply because there is a beach on the premisise.


One of the highlights of the trip was taking a Cessna from the island back to mainland! Instead of taking the hour+ ferry trip, we just hopped on a plane and were on the mainland in about ten minutes. I'll be honest, I was scared shitless. If it wasn't for me trying to figure out how to take good pictures from inside a cramped plane, I probably would have soiled myself.

Jenn and I were discussing the basics of electronics since I'm still figuring out how to wire up my new horns. We briefly discussed electrocution when I realized that I've never told my electrocution story here!


I decided to put a 120mm fan in the side of my computer case to aid in cooling. The case I had didn't have a hole for said fan so I need to add one! My aunt had a 20-year-old handheld jig saw that would do that job just perfectly. Since this saw was so old, it didn't have any sort of guard around the blade nor did it have any built-in fuses. I finished up the job just fine... I decided to disconnect the saw from the extension cord. I was holding the saw in my right hand and I grabbed the cable with my left hand. Using just my left hand, I tried to disconnect the cables. Well I touched the bare metal while it was still connected. My left hand immediately seized around the cable, clenching down on connected bare metal, my right hand seized and TURNED ON THE SAW. My aunt saw me shaking up and down uncontrollably, swinging the saw near my right leg. It lasted for about 3 seconds when finally the cable slipped out of my left hand. My short term memory was wiped as I didn't remember what had happened the ten minutes previous and it took about 15 minutes for my internal systems to feel normal again.


I hope I haven't jinxed myself for my upcoming automotive modification!

NASIOC - Hella supertones wiring horrors: So my horns were finally delivered and the instructions are a bit sparse. I guess it wouldn't be so bad if I had done ANY electrical work before. It took a bit of searching around but I found a few good diagrams and that the positive terminals on the horns are copper while the negative ones are silver. I'll get this figured out.

NASIOC - Hella Supertones Install: Just in case I wanted some more information on the basics of the install. This is for a WRX, but I'm sure something has to be applicable.

I've decided that I'm fed up with the drivers and pedestrians in this area. I've picked up a set of Hella Supertones! If you piss me off, I will respond with 118 dB in response! I'm not really sure how I'm going to mount them yet, but I've already been doing some research. Just so I don't forget, the OEM horn is located below the driver side headlight on the Focus.

Quick weekend update:


On Friday night, Kat and I hung out with one of her old friends, Sarah. Sarah is currently working as a catering coordinator and had just gotten finished with a gay and lesbian auction (I'm assuming they were auctioning things to gays and lesbians, not auctioning the gays and lesbians themselves). Two of her clients thought Sarah was cool and wanted to hang out with her. She invited these two guys to go out with us and it was a lot of fun! We ended up going to Tini Bigg's and since Sarah brought "clients", she expensed our drinks! Well, one of the drinks wasn't expensed. One of the guys she brought bought me a $60 drink! It was a top shelf Manhattan so someone made the joke that he bought me top shelf so that I would be his bottom. The $60 Manhattan was not $51 better than the $9 Manhattan I had when I first got there.


Saturday was my weekly flag football game and then Kat, Jeff and I grabbed dinner then watched The Whole Ten Yards... nowhere near as funny as the first. Sunday, Tim took me to the Seahawks game. We discussed everything from our dorky pasts to college fun to entertainment to buying our first homes. The game was fun except for the fact that the 'Hawks blew a 27-10 lead and lost in OT! That night, Kat and I went over to her parents house for dinner.

Work is driving me crazy so I'll take a quick break to blog.


Earlier this week, one of Katherine's cats, Sebastian, got sick. We started to notice that he was peeing with high frequency and sometimes he didn't bother using the box. When he decided to hop into bed with us just to piss on the comforter, we knew it was time to take him to the vet. We called them up and they said they just needed a urine sample to determine if he had a urinary tract infection. Kat grabbed the kit from the vet and then I got to take half a day off to try and grab cat piss!


The kit came with some non-absorbing litter, a pipette and a vial. I basically got to sit beside the litter box waiting for him to take a piss so I could bend down, suck it up and put it in the vial. He definitely had a problem of some sort as every time he would pee, it would be on the order of a fraction of a milliliter. Oh, and the fact that it was probably 1/3rd blood was also a good clue! It took at least three hours to collect 1.5 mL so I called the vet. When they found out he was male, was producing so little and it was so bloody, they had me bring him in. After some investigation, they said they couldn't determine if it was an infection or not so they put him on some kitty anti-biotic. I guess that worked as he is fine now!
